It Can Happen Everyday

"It's Christmas Eve! It's... it's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we... we... we smile a little easier, we... w-w-we... we... we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be!"

"....It can happen everyday. You just gotta want that feeling. And if you like it, and you want it, you'll get greedy for it! You'll want it everyday of your life... and it can happen to you. I believe in it now. I believe it's gonna happen to me now!  I'm ready for it! And, it's great."

"Have a Merry Christmas, everybody."

"...."God bless us, everyone."

Put a little love in your heart. Sing. :)

My Teacher, the Tree

No tree has branches so foolish as to fight amongst themselves.
-American Indian Proverb

Apparently, not everyone got the memo.

Look Over Here

In the midst of what seemed like chaos, I struggled, but managed to find a small piece of gratitude. I held it tightly in my hand. I focused on that tiny piece and before long found another one. Focusing on those pieces, I found even more to be grateful for. The magical cohesion of these small pieces kept me afloat. And, before I knew it, I had the power to find happiness in the midst of chaos.

Find your power.

Let Me See That

Along with the ability to reason comes the ability veer off my road. That is simply because my ability to reason is not dependent on truth.

In other words, despite the fact that I can come up with a multitude of reasons why I’ll never reach a certain goal, that does not mean that any of those reasons are absolutely true. I may somehow find, or create, what I need to get the job done, or even encounter a person or situation that will provide what I need to accomplish that very thing.

We can reason. Then we believe before we really question. Now, I take a much closer look and try to question before I choose to believe. This has changed my entire experience in this place.

See for yourself. :)

Come Out With Your Hands Up

Like a scary monster hiding in the shadows, fear looms in our peripherals. It seems unavoidable. It’s part of the ride of being human. It comes with the software. So, what’s a frontal lobe to do?

I have come to realize, more often than not, these demons are blocking the path to my highest good. Consequently, I have found myself on detours I didn’t expect to take, on my way to somewhere I didn’t want to go, doing things I didn’t want to do.

Nowadays, as often as possible, I reach out and grab the shadowy thing by the leg and drag it out into the light. Some take a little more work and courage than others, some throw their hands up and surrender immediately. The good news is, simply recognizing fear, a projected illusion, is sometimes all it takes to get your wings back.

Or, you may find the wings you never knew you had.
